    Description

1997-7 The Romans – National Geographic Map Educational Poster - Great Peoples of the Past Series
The Roman empire, created largely by force, was the longest lasting government in the world's history, before or after; and citizenship was open to any male deemed worthy, regardless of ethnic origin. It was ruled with a rare degree of justice of that time. The map-side contains a map of the Roman empire as will as map insets with narrative describing the various stage in the rise and fall of the empire. There is also a chronology of the rulers. The reverse-side is an illustration of what Palatine Hill, home of Rome's emperors, might have looked like in the early 4
    th
    century.
